Maimuna’s Memoir: The Phone Call

Tor, I only hope Altine’s Kaka is not as stubborn as my grand uncle, I thought silently. Altine was already on the phone to her grandmother. They spoke for quite a while and finally Altine rang off looking mildly frustrated. “She doesn’t understand what I’m saying or why she has to take her money to the bank inspite of my explanations. I think I will just go to her house and explain.” I thought of another idea,

“Why not call your mom? She can convince Kaka.” Altine sighed and shook her head, “To be honest, I’m closer to Kaka than my mom is. Remember I told you I stayed with her when my mom was studying abroad?” That was true. “I will go to Kaka and advise her.” She continued, preparing to leave. I got up too, wait let me accompany you, it’s been long since I’ve visited Kaka,” I said remembering the kind elderly woman who was good at telling us stories and giving us sweets when we were younger.
