Maimuna’s Memoir – The War In Sudan

I looked at him for a while, not knowing quite how to respond as i knew i would be needing a lot of hands on deck this week. There was so much to put on the website, so many stories to investigate. But this was about a war, a crisis and I was feeling empathetic. I sighed, and nodded, “Okay.” Musa was so grateful he nearly hugged me. Risikatu was smiling too. We both watched as he hastily packed up his things and literally ran out the door. “I think this week we should focus on Sudan,”

I told Risikatu. “Yes Ma, its so horrible what is going on there. Some people have to trek, others are moving in groups for safety just to get to the nearest borders. I even heard they re turning away Nigerians from the Ethiopian borders.” I had seen that video and had also contacted people I knew for confirmation. It turned out to be fake.
