Speaking with a nutritionist and mobile food vendor operator, Israel Ilori disclosed that, the mobile food truck business can be very profitable if the service is top-notch as the target audience or clientele will remain loyal as long as the price range is affordable, and having a good customer service guarantees the success of the business.

He affirms that there are various types of trucks in use as the standard ones are expensive, and a locally fabricated truck will cost less than the standard mobile food truck. As a result, the type of delicacies that the cook will like to sell determines what equipment need to be set up in the truck, such as burners, chillers, microwave, industrial zinc, and so on.

“We are looking upward of N20,000,000 to procure, Ship, and even clear the standard mobile trucks that we see on cooking shows that are aired on our satellite channels, a wise choice will be to get my done locally as long as you know what you want to do, engage out welders and supervise them till they get the right design of the type of truck you want for the business,” she said.

He, however, advises that to make a success of the business, the operator needs to choose a profitable niche by identifying the type of delicacy that has high demand and also the rate that the target clientele would gladly pay.

Investing in quality equipment that can handle the demand, cooking equipment, refrigerator, storage facilities, and also, a generator for powering the truck is important as well.

“Create an efficient system that allows you to prepare and serve food quickly and safely because when the orders are not quickly met that light put off the customers

“One has to secure the necessary permits and licenses if there for food safety permits and licenses to operate in that particular area that the truck is stationed except there is no need for such,” he said.

One important aspect of this business is creating awareness and promoting the business through the use of social media can be cheap, while orders can be made from there as well. With a rich list of delicacies on the menu, this can be a way to attract customers with pictorial effects and voice narration as well.

As we know a mobile food truck business is expected to not be stationed all the time as it can be taken to lock events, festivals, food fairs, or concerts by setting up a food booth to promote business and in the process sell and offer specials, discounts and promotions to attract customers and build a loyal customer base.

It is worth noting that this business can be sustained when the operator provides excellent customer service by being friendly, approachable, and accommodating, and resolving issues with urgency.

By developing a unique concept, investing in quality equipment, marketing effectively, and providing excellent customer service, you can create a profitable and sustainable mobile food business.
