Making Money From Live Musical Band

As we know, music has the power to set the tone and atmosphere of any event. A  talented individual with a soothing voice and vocal dexterity can make substantial capital out of this talent in the fast-paced world we live in, as entertainment has become a focal point of making genuine income for a living. 

The singer can collaborate with an instrumentalist, or backup vocals, and kickstart a live musical band career where they entertain people at events like; birthdays, weddings, burials, and other social functions.

 A live band musical performance always brings about a special feeling where people reminisce due to the type of songs the artists performs. 

Live performers are versed due to the wide array of genres they cover since most do not perform their original songs. Therefore, a robust catalogue of songs from the oldies to the present generation of music is infused into their performance while they also can dish out their original songs. 

However, it is worth noting that,  contemporary, classic, pop, Afro, Juju, gospel, and even traditional songs need to be mastered by the musical band. 

Speaking with Mr. Seun Oni, G-Solo musical band leader/singer with over a decade of experience in the live music band scene, he described the act of performing as a craft that keeps evolving due to the sounds, songs, and genre of the musical to be played. 

He, however, stated that, for a live music band to thrive, it must have a loyal, trustworthy team filled with respect for each other which will also transcend to the clients and guests who in turn appreciate their performance with a cash gift at the events. 

Hence, the right personnel like instrumentalists and backup vocals need to be in place for multiple rehearsals and when they have a show or an event, they will exhibit their performing skills at the event.

As we all know, live music performance evokes memories of the time past and creates a more intimate or fulfilled atmosphere which helps make the event the one to remember amongst many others. 

Live performance adds class and elegance to an event as the musician can interact with the audience and keep them spellbound to such events due to their music, instruments, or dance performance which might be what the guest will remember for a long time. 

The band leader must be someone with human management skills to assemble a team of dedicated instrumentalists and backup vocals, while also being able to have the business acumen if they could not afford to get a manager being able to multitask to make a success of the band. 

Aside from the uniform outfit for the musical band, the equipment the band needs includes:

Sound system/Speaker, Mixer, Microphones, Drums, Guitars, Saxophone, Keyboard/Piano, logistic Van, and so on.

If the artist has the resources, they can embark on getting their sound system to make their business more successful.  

Niche

The musical band needs to identify its target market, be it corporate events services or Performances at, a lounge, Restaurant, Birthday parties, Weddings, Naming Ceremonies, or burial services. 

 Profitability

It is a profitable path to earn a legitimate source of living. For a musical band that rents musical instruments and will pay for logistics, the charge is deducted first from the charge that the clients pay. 

Mr. Oni revealed that, some musical band charge as much as N5 million to N10milliom while an upcoming band whose yet to hit that limelight can make over N200,000 or more in a month as long as they are good and are ready to grow.
