As the rainy season approaches, most people focus on buying umbrellas and waterproof footwear. However, for tailors and fashion entrepreneurs, the season presents a lucrative opportunity to boost income by meeting the growing demand for practical, weather-friendly clothing.

“Customers are more likely to buy clothes that are easy to maintain. When you design with darker tones, you’re indirectly helping them save money, and that increases the value of your product,” Ojo noted.
Another profitable area is outerwear. According to her, there is a steady demand for durable raincoats and waterproof jackets.
“Many people are tired of buying cheap raincoats that spoil after a short time. Designers who can produce quality, long-lasting outerwear have a strong advantage in the market,” she said.
She also advised tailors to consider how garments pair with footwear, as wet shoes can
