Man Drowns Rescuing Son From Well

A 49- year- old man, Fasasi Afees, on Thursday drowned in a domestic well while attempting to rescue his 17- year-old son, Kaleed, who had fallen into the well at Gaa Jangbo in Offa local government area of Kwara State.

Spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, said firefighters were able to rescue Kaleed and recover his father’s corpse.

“We recovered the father dead  while we are able to rescue the son alive at New Maselu village, Offa,” Adekunle said.

According to the report, the boy went to fetch water from the well and slipped. Before the arrival of fire service men, his father while trying to rescue him also slipped and fell into the well.
