The deceased was trying to separate a fight between Barka Yama and Alex Tari of the Sina Kwande community in the Michika local government area and was killed in the process after receiving a heavy punch from Yama.

Already, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested the 32-year-old Barka and arraigned him before the Chief Magistrate Court 1, sitting in Yola for the offence of culpable homicide contrary to section 191 of the penal code.

Arraigning the defendant, the prosecuting police officer, ASP Francis Audu, narrated that while the duo were fighting on the 30th August, 2024, the deceased decided to intervene in order to settle their differences amicably.

ASP Francis told the court that the defendant violently gave the deceased a heavy blow, as a result of which he fell down unconsciously, saying that he was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor after he was rushed to the hospital.
