Our Correspondent gathered that the man was aggrieved after he gave his girlfriend, one miss Blessing Onawu, the sum of N7,000 to plait her hair with an agreement that the woman would be with him throughout the Valentine’s Day, but reneged on the earlier agreement.

“I wasn’t happy as I asked her why she failed to show up again as promised before I gave her the N7,000 but she began to laugh,” the suspect stated.

Speaking in an interactive session with the suspect when he was paraded alongside other criminal suspects at the state police command headquarters in Càlabar, Mr Abung pleaded for leniency stressing that he carried out the act under the influence of alcohol.

The suspect who claimed to be a farmer at his village in Okuni begged for pardon saying he would never take alcohol in his lifetime because of this act which has landed him in a serious trouble.
