Man Kills Neighbour For Refusing To Buy Him Beer

Police operatives in Bauchi State have arrested one Monday Ajasco (29y) of Kafin Tafawa Quarters in Bauchi for his alleged involvement in a homicide case.

The police said Ajasco on the 16th November, 2022 at about 2300hrswent to a beer parlor at Bagel village of Dass local government area where he met one Abdulrazak Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 30yrs now deceased and others drinking at a beer parlor in Bagel village.

Ajasco allegedly asked the deceased to buy him a beer to drink which he declined.

In a statement signed by the police command public relations officer Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, he said the development sparked a little altercation between the two which displeased the suspect.

Wakil said, “After a while, they decided to leave the beer parlor for their homes while the victim left before them. The deceased’s friend heard screamings from his friend from afar. On reaching the scene, he met his friend lying in a pool of his blood while the suspect was standing near the victim holding a sharp animal horn in his hand. He also threatened to stab the victim’s friend when he asked the suspect why he did so”.

Police investigation into the incident revealed that the suspect trailed and attacked the victim on his neck with a sharp object suspected to be an animal horn, as a result of which he sustained a serious injury where he was rushed to the General Hospital, Dass but was certified dead by a medical doctor.

In a related development, men of the Bauchi Police command also arrested one Maryam Ibrahim for killing her mate, Hafsat Ibrahim by hitting her on the head with a pestle as a result of which she sustained a serious degree of injury that subsequently led to her death.

“On the 22nd November 2022 at about 1800hrs one Ibrahim Sambo ‘m’ aged 40yrs of Gar village Pali ward, Alkaleri LGA came to Maina-maji Divisional Police Headquarters and reported that on the same date at about 1200hrs, his second wife Maryam Ibrahim ‘f’ aged 20yrs of the same address armed with a pestle entered into his first wife room Hafsat Ibrahim ‘f’ aged 32yrs of the same address and hit her with the pestle on the head, as a result, the victim sustained serious degree of injury”.

Wakil said the victim was evacuated to Primary Healthcare Centre Gar village where she was certified dead, saying a team of detectives attached to the command had swung into action and arrested the suspect.
