A middle-aged man, Bala Aliyu, who defiled the 10-year-old daughter of his wife’s friend, has been arrested.
LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that a report of a suspected defilement of a teenager was made to the police at Bosso in Bosso local government area of Niger State.

It was learnt that an unusual observation was noticed on the daughter of his wife’s friend named Hauwa 10 of the El-Waziri area of Bosso after she returned from an errand to the Aliyu’s house.

Consequently, when checked, bruises were observed on her private part, and the mother suspected that she was defiled.

It was learnt that when asked, she narrated her encounter with her mother’s friend’s husband, to whom she delivered the message but later forced her inside.

The police public relations officer (PPRO), Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, saying, “Unfortunately, during the process, the girl was dragged into the room by the said Bala and forcefully defiled her”.

“He also threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone. The suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime, and he has been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and diligent prosecution,” the PPRO said.

Similarly, the PPRO said in a proactive effort of the command to ensure a peaceful cross-over celebration into the New Year, the DPO GRA Police Division led Patrol teams with Crack Squad in a clamp-down effort against miscreants to Fadikpe Junction and Dutsen-Kura Junction Minna, where 23 restive youths were arrested.

Abiodun said the suspects were arrested with suspected cannabis, swords, knives, sticks, stones, iron rods, charms, scissors, tobacco, military shorts, rolling rizla, and other hard drugs.
