The condemned man was said to have brutally murdered his lover by plugging his fabricating machine to electricity connection and piercing her body while asleep.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on December 7, 2018, following series of feuds between the convict and the girlfriend whom he accused of always being too close to a neighbour, a patent medicine dealer.

In the three-hour judgement, Justice Ntong said; “You, Ubon Udo, must be hanged until you are dead” and admonished God to have mercy on his soul.
Fighting back tears, the convict who pleaded for leniency, sought the commutal of the sentence saying his aged parents would have nobody to take care of them in his absence.
