Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly preparing for a significant squad overhaul, with several high-profile players facing potential exits.

According to The Independent, Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane are all available for transfer. Ten Hag is said to be “willing to listen to offers” as he aims to stamp his authority on the team and build a squad capable of challenging for major honors.

The decision to sell Casemiro, a £70 million signing just 18 months ago, may come as a surprise to some fans. However, reports suggest that the Brazilian midfielder is not fully convinced by Ten Hag’s tactics and might be seeking a new challenge.

Jadon Sancho, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund for a similar sum in 2021, has also fallen out of favor with the manager. The winger recently accused Ten Hag of making him a scapegoat, leading to his exile from the first team.

Raphael Varane, a key member of the Manchester United defense for the past two seasons, is also on the transfer list. The French defender’s experience and leadership qualities will undoubtedly attract significant interest from other clubs.

Despite the expected departures, Ten Hag has surprisingly changed his mind about two other players. Harry Maguire, stripped of the captaincy at the start of the season, and Scott McTominay, who previously faced an uncertain future at the club, have both forced their way back into the manager’s plans.

Maguire’s resurgence has seen him become a crucial figure in the defense, while McTominay’s two goals against Chelsea highlighted his importance to the team. This turnaround has reportedly led Ten Hag to appreciate their contributions and commitment to the club.

The upcoming transfer window is set to be a defining period for Manchester United. With several big names potentially leaving and Ten Hag continuing to build his squad, the club’s future direction will become clearer in the coming months.
