In an exciting collaboration, Sunbeth Global Concepts, Glenfiddich, Arravo, and Coscharis have team up with First Bank of Nigeria Limited for the upcoming 64th Lagos Amateur Open Golf Championship.
Sunbeth Global Concepts and Glenfiddich are serving as Platinum sponsors, while Arravo and Coscharis hold the title of Bronze sponsors.
Abdussamad Abdurrahman, Manager of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Sunbeth, emphasised that the partnership resonates with the core values upheld by the sport of golf. On his part, the general manager, marketing and corporate communications at Coscharis, Babarinde Abiona, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that it aims to elevate the tournament experience by uniting golfers and their associates.
He also announced an enticing incentive for participants, revealing that a BMW will be awarded as a hole-in-one prize during the championship.
Dr. Ayo Adegboye, Chief Executive Officer of Arravo, expressed pride in joining forces with First Bank, stating that the partnership is a key step towards fostering the development of golf in Nigeria.
In a bid to further enhance the stature of the event, First Bank has significantly increased its support, pledging a remarkable N34.5 million in cash prizes and additional rewards for the 64th edition of the Lagos Amateur Open.
First Bank, head of treasury sales and derivatives marketing, Ayokunle Ojo, confirmed that the increased prize funds are designed to elevate the championship and promote the growth of professional golfers in the region.
The 64th Lagos Amateur Open is set to kick off on Monday, November 17, with the caddies tournament, followed by the Championship kitty on Wednesday. The Corporate Golf Challenge for Charity will take place on Thursday, leading into the main event, which will run from Friday through to Sunday, November 23.
Recognised internationally by the USGA and The R&A, the Lagos Open holds the distinction of being the longest-running golf tournament in Nigeria, further solidifying its status as a premier event in the golfing calendar.
