A facility manager at the moribund Aba Textile Mills Plc, Aba, and two other members of the staff have been arrested over alleged stealing and vandalization of the facility.
This is even as the Abia State government had recently announced plans to reactivate the mill along with Star Paper Mill Limited in the commercial town.
The commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu stated this while briefing the media on the outcome of this week’s executive council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti in Umuahia, the capital.
“The government warns unscrupulous persons whose stock in trade is to steal and vandalize its property to desist from such criminal tendencies or be ready to face the wrath of the law,” he noted.
Meanwhile, the state chief judge, Justice Lillian Abai has announced a one-week Easter holiday vacation for judges of the state judiciary.
The acting chief registrar, High Court of Justice, Umuahia, Beauty Allwell, told newsmen that the approval is in line with the state’s High Court Practice Procedure 2021.
Allwell, who indicated that the vacation is from Monday, April 21 to 28, enjoined the Nigerian Bar Association branches and the general public to take note.
