Stakeholders have applauded Sam Oguche for his constant effort towards the development of basketball in Nigeria.

The former Nigeria international is currently holding the 3rd Sam Oguche/Bullet Energy Drink Invitational Tournament aimed at identifying and grooming more talents from the grassroots.

The five day tournament which dunked off at the magnificent Mo Basketball Arena in Abuja on Monday is expected to climax on Friday, November 17.

Commenting on the tournament, the founder of the Mark D’Ball, Mr. Igoche Mark, urged Nigerians to emulate the zest and commitment Sam Oguche has shown towards giving back to the society through basketball.

“I relish your commitment, passion and zest you have shown by giving back to basketball, a sport that made you. This is indeed a virtue others in basketball must emulate. Thumbs up Sammy,” Mark said.

Speaking in the same vein, a former assistant coach to the national basketball team, Emmanuel Odah, also laude Oguche’s consistency in organising the Sam Oguche/Bullet Energy Drink Invitational Tournament, which he said has keep domestic basketball players busy following the recession that greeted the country’s domestic basketball leagues.

“Sam Oguche has been consistent in organising this invitational tournament.

This is the third edition this year and so far we have eight elite teams from outside and within Abuja. This tournament has helped our domestic players survive following the break in domestic basketball. More grace to you, Sam Oguche,” Odah stated.
