The inauguration of Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for a second term in office on Monday, May 29, 2023, is likely to be a low-key event.

The ceremony may not be anything different with AbdulRazaq’s first inauguration in 2019 when invitation to the event, which held at the Government Banquet Hall, was restricted.

As at the time of filing this report on Sunday, no official statement has been issued nor public announcement made in respect of the Monday’s inauguration ceremony.

However, a highly placed government official told LEADERSHIP in confidence that the event may take place at the Government House, Ilorin, the state capital early in the morning.

“I think the inauguration will hold at the Government House and this will be brief and early in the morning. You know the governor is now the NGF chairman and there is every possiblity that he might be billed to attend the presidential inauguration billed for 11am in Abuja. These are just my thoughts. It’s not an official information,” the source added.

However, our reporter stumbled on an invite sent to guests for the inauguration gala dinner billed to hold at the banquet hall later at 7.30pm on Monday.

LEADERSHIP observed that politicans, especially the women in the All Progressives Congress (APC) fold and the market women were upbeat about attending the inauguration ceremony.

They had been making frantic efforts to get invitation cards that is not forthcoming as at the time of this report.
