Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has called on civil servants in the state to redouble their efforts in upholding the tenets of their job, as well as promoting the policies of the state government in their various offices.
He made the call on Monday while addressing the congregation during the “2026 New Year Workers’ Mass” held at the Government House Chaplaincy.
He urged both civil and public servants to renew their vigour in playing their roles, as his administration has an ambitious revenue target across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
In his homily tagged “2026: A year of renewed momentum”, the Government House Chaplain, Rev Fr Anthony Udeh, asked God to give the governor and his cabinet the strength to continue to deliver the quality leadership they have embarked upon.
He enumerated several completed and ongoing projects across the state and commended the state government for being a beacon of hope for the state and the entire world.
The priest maintained that it takes a good shepherd, as exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ, to touch every life, as Dr Mbah has demonstrated in every facet of human endeavour.
The mass, attended by top federal and state government officials, party chieftains and the clergy, was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr Calistus Onaga, who the Vicar General, Monsignor Geoffrey Aguigwo, represented.
