‎Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, widely known as Brymo, has stirred fresh controversy after sharing a divisive opinion on relationships and accountability.
‎
‎In a post on his Instagram page, the Tabula Rasa crooner suggested that men should not apologise to women when the latter are at fault, a stance that has since drawn criticism and sparked debate across social media.
‎
‎Nobody deserves to suffer more than men who apologise to women when the women are wrong,” he wrote. “And suffer they will from here, and for the rest of humanity’s earthly existence.”
‎
‎The remarks, widely described as misogynistic by critics, have triggered a wave of reactions from fans and commentators alike. While some dismissed the statement as provocative or exaggerated, many others expressed concern over what they see as a harmful generalisation about relationships and gender dynamics.
‎
‎For some observers, the controversy reflects a broader conversation about pride, responsibility and communication within relationships. They argue that apologies are less about assigning blame and more about mutual respect, empathy and the willingness to resolve conflict constructively.
‎
‎Others, however, noted that real-life relationships are rarely defined by rigid rules, pointing out that circumstances often require emotional maturity and compromise from both parties.
‎
‎Brymo, known for his outspoken views and unconventional perspectives, has yet to respond further to the backlash. Nevertheless, his comments have reignited discussions about gender roles, accountability and the importance of healthy dialogue in personal relationships
