Reality TV star and entrepreneur Mercy Eke has offered one of her most candid interviews yet, opening up about love, marriage, education, business and the personal growth that has shaped her life since winning Big Brother Naija.
Speaking on the latest episode of Toke Moments hosted by Toke Makinwa, Mercy reflected on returning to school to pursue a master’s degree while simultaneously running her business empire.
She described the experience as challenging but worthwhile, stressing that education remains one of the best investments anyone can make in themselves.
The conversation also delved into her romantic life, where Mercy revealed that she has been in a relationship for four years but is yet to walk down the aisle because her partner believes she is “not ready” for marriage.
“He keeps saying I’m not ready. I don’t know what it is that I’m doing that he says I’m not ready,” she said.
Despite his reservations, Mercy insisted she feels prepared for marriage, citing her maturity, career success and readiness to build a family.
“I feel I’m of age, I’m successful, and mentally, I think I’m ready. I’m homely, I think I can manage a home. I’m ready for that next level,” she said.
She also disclosed that she intends to have an honest conversation with her partner, adding that she believes he may actually be the one who is not ready for marriage.
Beyond relationships, Mercy addressed the misconceptions that have followed her since leaving the Big Brother Naija house, while discussing the journey of transforming M&M into a thriving lifestyle brand.
She also spoke about her commitment to fitness, describing it as more than a physical routine but a form of healing and self-care that has helped her maintain balance amid the pressures of fame.
The reality star further shared her views on female friendships, self-respect and maintaining healthy boundaries, explaining that she has learned to prioritise peace over unnecessary drama in an industry often fuelled by rivalry and comparison.
The interview has resonated with fans for its honesty, offering a deeper look into Mercy Eke’s evolving priorities as she continues to build her career while remaining open about her hopes for love, marriage and personal fulfilment.
