Lionel Messi has praised his former coach Pep Guardiola, calling him “the best of all of them” in a recent exclusive interview with ESPN.

Messi reflected on his time under Guardiola, who played a pivotal role in shaping his early career at Barcelona. “Guardiola is unique. There are many exceptional coaches, but he possesses something different,” Messi stated, emphasising his admiration for Guardiola’s comprehensive approach to coaching.

The Argentine forward highlighted Guardiola’s successful stints at other clubs, noting how he transformed their playing styles and led them to numerous victories. “He has continued winning wherever he goes, not just because of the trophies but due to the style of play he instils in his teams,” Messi added.

As Messi looks forward to more success with Argentina, he also reminisced about the formidable partnership he had with Guardiola during their time at Barcelona, where they secured 14 major titles.
