Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough have confirmed Kelechi Iheanacho’s return to Sevilla.

Iheanacho joined Middlesbrough from Spanish club, Sevilla, on loan in January.

The 28-year-old moved to the Riverside Stadium in search of regular football after falling out of favour at Sevilla.

The Nigeria international scored one goal and registered two assists in 15 league appearances for Michael Carrick’s side.

Iheanacho missed only one game for Boro during his loan spell – a 3-1 defeat at Stoke City.

The forward is expected to seek a permanent exit from Middlesbrough before the start of the 2025/26 season.
