43 years ago, the federal government embarked on the construction of the Ajaokuta Steel Company with the aim of industrialising Nigeria and creating massive job opportunities. To date, the project, said to be 98 per cent completed, remains incomplete. A recent effort by the Buhari government to reach out to Russia to complete the project appears stalled, as Russia is pounded by sanctions.
