The youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers South-East senatorial district, Hon Innocent Ajaelu, has declared that more political parties are joining the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.

This is even as he also declared that the coalition does not see the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a threats ahead of the 2027 general election in the state.

The Rainbow Coalition is a major political alliance led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, created to unite politicians from the APC, PDP, Labour Party, and Action Alliance toward a shared political vision

Ajaelu, who spoke in interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday in Port Harcourt yesterday, stated that both ADC and NDC are not on ground in the state, but only exist on social media.

“Let me tell you why this coalition is sweet for me because I don’t even know these other parties you are talking about, if they are existing in Rivers State or they exist only on social media.

“Recall that in 2013, what have birth to the APC you are seeing today was a marriage of many political parties. They came together, became strong and removed a sitting President of a ruling party that had been in power for 16 years.

“So, that is what we are going to replicate in Rivers State. The coalition is getting stronger by the day. So many other political parties are joining and I see it as one of the highest political strategy that has been introduced in Rivers State.

“Before now, there were some political parties no body heard their names but today, under the coalition, you can here their names. So, there is no threat from any other party that is not part of the coalition that I know that will affect our performance in the general election come 2027.

“They coalition is getting stronger and stronger. If you look at Rivers State today, who is who politically ard directly or indirectly members of the coalition. That being said, coalition is the order of the day now,” he said.
