….. Wants Son Buried In His House
The father of the departed gospel artiste, Toluwanisings, has opened up about his relationship with his son and his upbringing, clarifying that his son is 34, not 44, as reported by various media outlets.
The musician was said to have slumped on October 14 at his home, after which there was a battle to save his life, and different hospitals refused to treat him for one reason or another, before he was brought in dead to the UCH Ibadan.
.
Toluwanisings’ father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, in an interview with Dumininu in the Yoruba language, said that his death was shocking as he was out at an event on that fateful Wednesday, and he was called to rush back home, and he saw pictures of his son on the Internet with RIP written on it.
Olayemi said he was based in Kano, where his son, Bayonle Sodiq Olayemi (Toluwanisings), was born in 1992.
Elder Olayemi, who shared personal details and the death of his wife and mother of Toluwanisings when he was only six months, said, ” I am the father of Bayonle, who is known as Toluwanisings. We gave birth to him in 1992 while we were in Kano, where his mother and I lived. His mother died sadly and left us in this world after the boy was six months old, and we had to bring her corpse home to his mother’s place in Agba, Osun State, based on a request.”
Toluwanisings father who spoke on said, “My wife’s family who saw the corpse of their daughter, opened the coffin to check her parts and ascertain that all was intact before approving her burial, asking me and my family to come the next day. That was when they requested that, to console the family, Bayonle should stay with them, and it was the mother’s senior who he lived with, though I would have wanted him with me. My senior sister also lived in Agba and helped to raise him as well, and that was how he was raised and went to Methodist Secondary School at Agba”.
Elder Olayemi noted that he had no issues with his son being a Christian, as he behaved well, and, moreover, he has family members who are Christians as well. He said they had no issues, and it was Toluwanisings who asked him to relocate to the South. He also got in touch with his other siblings.
He mentioned during the interview that he wants Toluwanisings buried in his house, as that is his glory. This desire may have pitched him against Toluwanisings’ wife, who prefers him buried in a cemetery or church, as she said she would not be comfortable living in a house where her husband was buried.
Toluwanisings’ father was said to have made his point known that his son should be buried in the house he built himself not long ago, and if he is not buried there, then he should be taken to the hometown to be buried beside where his mother is buried.
A Night of Tributes and Service of Songs will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2016, while the burial location and date have not been released to the public yet.
