Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hasaan has inaugurated the medical team of the 2023 Hajj exercise after the successful screening of the members.

No fewer than 212 applicants participated in the verification exercise held in Abuja.

Inaugurating the team after the selection of successful applicants, Hassan urged the team to be at its best in ensuring the health of Nigerian pilgrims before, during and after the spiritual exercise in the holy land.

While enjoining the members of the medical team to consider their selection as a trust reposed on them by the Almighty Allah, hebwarned the team to respect guidelines and regulations of the host country, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who he said do not tolerate infractions.

According to a press statement released by an assistant director, public affairs, Fatima Sands Usara, Hassan congratulated successful members for the special grace of scaling the selection out of over 10,000 applicants where only 230 members are required.

Prince Sheikh Suleman Momoh, the commissioner for planning, research, information, statistics and library services (PRISLS) who doubles as the chairman of the national medical team, said the selection of the members followed a transparent ballot system under the supervision of 12 members.

He therefore emphasized that any member who would not comply strictly to the terms and conditions of engagement was invited to honorably decline the offer.

Sheikh Momoh informed them that once they sign the acceptance letter, they would be expected to work as stipulated, explaining that NAHCON considers health care of pilgrims cardinal in its operations.
