Barrister Paul Edeh, proprietor of the Nigerian Women Premier League (NWPL) side, Naija Ratel FC of Abuja, has donated another set of Nigeria Weekly Law Reports booklets to Benue State University (BSU).
Barr. Edeh, who is an alumnus of BSU and founder of Ratel Sports Development Funds (RSDF), aside equipping the library of the institution’s law department continuously, updated it with up to date Law Reports since 2016.
While presenting the latest Law Reports covering till date before the BSU council in session on Thursday May 25, the RSDF President assured of his readiness to supply the school with more Law Reports in the next five years.
Barr. Edeh who was led into the council chamber by the school’s Dean Faculty of Law Prof. Ukooh Ikoni also revealed how he gave scholarships to students to study in BSU among them is Sandra Idoko who recently emerged overall best in Amnesty international inter-university debate in Nigeria.
Idoko represented BSU and competed against Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), University of Ibadan, University of Benin, Veritas University, among others.
Barr. Edeh who sponsors various sporting and humanitarian programmes then promised to further give Idoko a scholarship to Law school upon graduation from BSU, just as he reiterated his resolve to reward best graduating Law students from the school in the next five years.
“I have always desired to give back to my alma mater that trained me to become who I’m today. I will continue to do more to lift humanity,” he said.
While applauding the innumerable humanitarian gestures of Barr. Edeh, elated BSU Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council Chief Sebastine Tar Hon, SAN, said, “We will never forget you and your good deeds. People like you are rare to find in society. The school management will write you an appreciation letter on behalf of the council. May the good God continue to bless and prosper you.”
Earlier, BSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Tor Joe Iorapuu and Law Faculty Dean Prof. Ikoni spoke lustrously on how the school has steadily transformed to one of the outstanding citadels of learning in the country.
The Dean particularly called on well-meaning alumni to emulate Barr. Edeh to assist the school in the upgrade of law facilities to meet latest model demands in a bid to gain timely accreditation of its course
