The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Thursday, staged a peaceful protest, demanding urgent intervention in what it described as deep-rooted sexual harassment, corruption, and mismanagement at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State.

The students who gathered at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, disrupted official activities while also demanding the immediate removal of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fasina.

Led by NANS National Public Relations Officer, Samson Ajasa Adeyemi, the protesters who were armed with placards with different inscriptions, blocked the entrance of the Ministry, insisting on getting audience with the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa.

“From today, we will occupy the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission (NUC), and the National Assembly every week.

“These protests will continue until the Honourable Minister of Education takes a bold, courageous, and irreversible steps to right these wrongs,” Adeyemi declared.
