Kogi State governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, on Monday, presented vehicles and motorcycles to various security agencies in the State.

Speaking during the event, Governor Ododo emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring security.

“Your sacrifices and contributions reflect a deep understanding that security is a shared responsibility,” Ododo told security agents.

The distribution, the governor said, was due to the state government’s deliberate investment in strengthening and modernising the security framework.

“We are beginning to see the result of our deliberate investment in training and modernising the security framework of our state,” he said.

The governor expressed gratitude to citizens who have donated vehicles and other resources to support security efforts, saying, “It is heartwarming to see more citizens rise to this occasion.”

He also appreciated the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, saying, “I also want to appreciate Mr. President for being very wonderful to us in Kogi State. We in Kogi State appreciate him and continue to show gratitude.”

He further commended all the security agencies in the state, acknowledging that they were working together in synergy, which led to the success being recorded in the state.

The distributed vehicles include 12 refurbished ones, 10 donated vehicles, and 27 motorcycles.

The governor urged the security agencies to use the vehicles for the purpose they were intended, saying, “Let it be used for the purpose it was created for.”

Executive Chairman, Kogi State Security Trust Fund, AVM Omeiza Umar (rtd), commended Governor Ododo’s visionary leadership and proactive approach to security management.

Umar said such has led to improved coordination and enhanced public confidence in the safety of lives and property.

“This is a practical demonstration of the governor’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every corner of Kogi State remains secure,” he said.

He assured that the Trust Fund remained committed to mobilising resources and providing sustainable support for the operational needs of security agencies, adding that the newly established logistics hub will serve as a nerve centre for the Trust Fund’s operations.
