The Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, has disassociated himself from a group called Barade Youth Movement in Keana, Keana local government area of the state.
The group had unilaterally distributed exercise books to primary school pupils in the local government area without consulting or informing Mohammed.
Speaking with journalists in Lafia at the weekend, Mohammed said he was not involved in the group’s activities and did not authorise the use of his name or image in their endeavours.
The former speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly added that such action was sponsored by his enemies to tarnish his image and distract him from delivering on his present assignment.
The accountant general who holds the traditional title of Baraden Nasarawa also stated that his focus was on his current role in office as appointed by Governor Abdulahi Sule.
He advised the group to immediately withdraw the exercise books from circulation and warned the public to be cautious of individuals using his name for personal gains. The accountant general emphasised his commitment to serve the state in his designated capacity, stressing that he had no knowledge of the group’s activities until the exercise books were already distributed.
