Nasarawa APC Returns Bello As Chairman

Dr. Aliyu Bello, has been returned as the All Progressives (APC) helmsman for Nasarawa State.

Bello was returned through affirmation by party stakeholders drawn from across all the 13 local government areas of the state, in a congress which held at the Lafia Square on Tuesday.

The party had earlier adopted a consesus arrangement for all its congresses.

With the arrangement the consesus list containing all the 36 state executives were adopted during the congress.

At the end of the exercise, Hon. Kunda Jatau Kunda (Wamba LGA) emerged as Deputy Chairman. Yairus G. Dagusa, MNI (Toto LGA) was also returned as State Secretary.

Other key officials on the consensus list include Umar Salihu Osadima (Awe LGA) as Assistant Secretary; Mohammed D. Ayitogo (Keana LGA) as Vice Chairman South; Suleiman Maiyaki (Akwanga LGA) as Vice Chairman North; and Isiah K. Agah (Nasarawa LGA) as Vice Chairman West among others.

Speaking, Governor Abdullahi Sule, commended the congress committee for ensuring a hitch-free exercise.

He also appreciated the stakeholders for the understanding which led to the adoption of consesus for all congresses.

In his remarks, the APC chairman, Bello thanked the stakeholders and party members for the opportunity given to the state working commission to serve.

He promised to ensure the unity and progress of the party while calling for support from all members ahead of the next general elections.

Earlier, the governor held a strategic meeting with former governors Abdullahi Adamu and Tanko Al-Makura, ahead of the state caucus meeting and congress.

The high-level meeting, which took place inside governor’s office at Government House Lafia, brought together other key stakeholders of the ruling party in the state as part of ongoing consultations to strengthen unity and consolidate the party’s structure ahead of the forthcoming congress.
