The board’s public relations officer, AbdulRazaq Muhammad in a statement in Lafia, said the amount would be disbursed among the 2,091 pilgrims that performed the 2023 hajj from the state.

LEADERSHIP recalls that NAHCON had announced last month that N4.47bn was refunded to States’ Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the Armed Forces for services not rendered properly by the Saudi Authorities during the 2023 Hajj exercise.

It equally disclosed that N917.14m was also refunded to 192 accredited tour companies that participated in the 2023 Hajj.

It explained that the amount was for onward disbursement to their respective pilgrims, while the remaining participating companies would also be refunded after due reconciliation.

The board in the state said each pilgrim that participated in last year’s hajj operation is entitled to N61,080 for some services not rendered to them during the last year’s hajj exercise.

It said, “The beneficiaries are to present their international passport and account number to their respective local government and Development Area’s coordinators for onward delivery to board for payment via account submitted.

“Mallam Idris Al-Makura reiterated the board’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the refund exercise.

“While commending Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for supporting the activities of the board, Mallam Idris Al-Makura gives assurance that all 2023 pilgrims will get their refunds through their account.

“Mallam Idris Al-Makura used the medium to call on the 2025 intending pilgrims to make deposits as preparation has reached the advanced stage.”
