In light of the allegations made by Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress from Delta South, Chief Ayirimi Emami, has called for restraint in the ongoing verbal confrontation.

During a recent appearance on Arise News Morning Show, Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed that she was being targeted by Akpabio following her rejection of his alleged sexual advances.

However, Emami, in a statement on Saturday, urged both lawmakers to cease hostilities, stating that adversaries of President Bola Tinubu’s administration were keen to exploit the situation and distract the public.

He highlighted that the “unnecessary media feud” has diverted attention from the critical matters at hand, particularly the signing of the N54.99 trillion budget for 2025 by President Tinubu on Friday. Emami emphasised the importance of focusing on the budget’s potential to foster national progress rather than the squabbles between the Senators.

Stressing the need for the Senate’s integrity to be upheld, Emami revealed that APC leaders in the South-South were working to mediate the discord between Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan.
