Team Nigeria’s Ezekiel Nathaniel delivered a breathtaking display of athletic prowess on Monday, storming to victory in the final heat of the men’s 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships ‘Tokyo 2025’.

The young athlete clocked an impressive time of 48.37 seconds to secure his place in the semifinals and leaving spectators in awe of his capabilities.

Nathaniel’s performance was not just a testament to his speed but also showcased his technical skill, particularly over the hurdles, as he maintained a fluid rhythm throughout the race.

This victory signified a significant milestone in his athletic career, demonstrating his readiness to contend for a podium finish in the later rounds of the competition.

Trailing closely behind Nathaniel was American runner Caleb Dean, who finished the race in 48.67 seconds, putting up a commendable effort but ultimately unable to match Nathaniel’s pace.

Dean’s solid performance may pose a challenge in the upcoming semifinals, should he maintain his momentum and adapt to the pressures of the next stage in the competition.

Meanwhile, Brazil’s Francisco Dos Reis Viana made headlines by achieving a personal best time of 48.69 seconds to secure third place.

As the championship unfolds, Nathaniel’s victory in the heats has established him as a frontrunner to watch, particularly as he advances to the semifinals later this week.

Coaches and analysts alike were eager to see if he can maintain this form and contend for a medal at the prestigious international event.
