Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has called on investors in the agricultural industry to invest into agriculture in order to make the sector regain it’s full pride of place as the cornerstone of our nation’s economy.
The governor stated this while declaring the 2022 National Agricultural Show with a theme “Small Holder Farming” The Challenges of Climate Change,Insecurity and Production Costs” open at Tudun Wada,Karu local government Council of Nasarawa state recently.
The occasion which concided with Nasarawa special day,the state governor, Abdullahi Sule was represented by the state commissioner for Agriculture and water resources,Hon Nuhu Ibrahim Oshafu.
The governor thanked development partners for the choice of Nasarawa state to invest in,adding that the called on development partners to come and invest in the state signifies a collective quest to revamp the agricultural sector.
He however maintained that the idea of revamping the sector was in line with the objectives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government under the headship of President Muhammadu Buhari of diversifying the nation’s economy aimed at creating food value chain addition in the county.
The governor commended the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria for it’s consistence in organizing the annual event,he averred that the effort of the foundation has continued to energized all stakeholders to intensify efforts towards agricultural practices.
“The continual hosting of Agricultural show is an acknowledgement of the fact that the state occupies a strategic position in the agricultural potentials of the state while considering the abundance of both natural and human resources and,indeed,the availability of land for farming”.
