In appreciation of their contribution to Nigeria’s economy and human capacity development, National Youth Group, the Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (SYAN), has awarded a number of top performing professionals in various fields.
SYAN presented this honours during its 4th National Business Summit & Award Presentation event held recently in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. Top on the list of awardees are entertainers, entreprenuers, business leaders and artisans.
Nollywood, Nigeria’s foremost entertainment body stars such as Aremu Olumide Afolayan, Yeye Toyin Tomato and a host of others fall in the entertainers award category.
Coach Spark Ovadje (MD/CEO Coach Spark Consulting Int’l Ltd), Kafayat Abiodun Sekoni (Goldit Event Solution), Damilola Dickson (owner of Elites Interior) and others were awarded for their entrepreneurship and venture building success.
Muhammed Moshood, a technology focused business professional, won An Award of excellence in the technology sector category. The awardee who also gave a key note speech remotely from his base in the United Kingdom,
Moshood’s speech detailed various opportunities available to young people in the digital era. He noted that Nigerian youth must begin to look the way of various emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and Internet of Things, to drive efficiency of the nation;s economy.
Responding, the Chairman of the Association, Ambassador Sani Ahmed Ifeoluwa, the Chairman of the youth group, noted that Moshood’s “reputation as a business professional in the digital economy makes him a great choice for their highest standing honour alongside other awardees.”
He added that Moshood, like other awardees, stood out amongst his peers within the technology sector.
The youth leader noted the organisation is keen on working with top performing sector players in advancing nigeria’s economy: “SYAN’s vision is to protect the interest of youths, particularly within the southern region and contributing to the development of the region, to build a peaceful, equitable and sustainable region and country commitment to social and economic development through his many skills is worthy of emulation.”
Ambassador Sani noted that the awardees have been selected specially having looked at the whole of seventeen of the thirty-six states of the country. While congratulating them for a great performance over the years, he urged them to be great mentors that the organization look up to and urged them to continue in their giant stride for excellence.
