The Emir of Kano, His Highness Aminu Ado Bayero, has said that he will continue to identify and promote activities that will foster peace between the North, the South-East and indeed, all regions in the country to ensure that it is sustained in Nigeria.

Emir Bayero’s assurance was contained in his speech at the recent unveiling of Peace in South-East Project (PISE-P) in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The initiative championed by the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, seeks non-kinetic approach towards resolving the security challenges in the South-East region of Nigeria.

He said: “Today, as we celebrate the attainment of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu to a greater height, we are reminded of the importance of maintaining peaceful coexistence between the North and the East and indeed all regions of our great country, It is imperative that we continue to foster dialogue, diplomacy, mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration, transcending tribal differences for the collective prosperity of our motherland.”

The Emir called on the deputy speaker to use the platform to cater to the poor and the indigent in the society, saying it will help to mitigate their economic challenges.
