Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has tasked naval personnel to place premium on their physical and mental health alertness to enhance operational readiness.

Admiral Ogalla, represented by the Chief of Administration, Rear Adm. Kenneth Ezete, gave the charge after the Second Quarter Route March in Abuja yesterday.
According to him, the reason for the exercise is to ensure that officers and men are physically fit for the naval job.

“It is also to promote comradeship and for the citizens or the populace to know that they have a navy that its personnel are physically fit to carry out their assigned tasks,” he said.

The CNS said the quarterly March was a routine exercise held in all naval formations across the country.
He assured Nigerians to continue to expect the best from the navy in the ongoing fight against insecurity and criminality in the country, especially the fight against oil theft.

He commended the personnel for the impressive turnout and the display of fitness during the march.
