Abia State chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists has congratulated the state governor, Alex Otti, on his election victory and successful inauguration.

It extended similar message to former chairman of the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Hyacinth Okoli, on his appointment as acting director-general of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State.

These were contained in separate statements by the NAWOJ state chairperson, Josephine Ogwo and secretary, Sally Anyanso made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia yesterday.

The statement noted that it was not in doubt that with Otti’s background and experience, he would deliver the needed infrastructure and rapid economic development of the state.

Referring to the former director of news and current affairs of the broadcasting corporation “as a thorough bred journalist”, the chapter noted that Okoli’s elevation was well-deserved.
