Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has turned down a request for an interim order sought by the suspended general secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Joyce Oduah, to restrain the acting general secretary from performing the duties of the general secretary.
The applicant prayed the court for an order to restrain the NBA from acting or relying on the resolution reached by the national executive committee.
He also prayed the court for an order directing the inspector-general of Police to assist her in the discharge of her duties as general secretary.
In a short ruling in the application, the court ordered that the respondents be put on notice and adjourned the suit to 23 August 2022 for hearing.
