The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on Governor Bala Mohammed, political stakeholders, and aspirants across party lines to join its platform, pledging stability and freedom from internal crises and litigation.
The State Chairman, Abdullahi Maigari Misau, made the appeal on Sunday during an interview with journalists in Bauchi.
He described the NDC as a unique political platform free from factional disputes, positioning it as an attractive alternative for politicians seeking credibility ahead of future elections.
According to him, the party has no record of leadership tussles or court cases, assuring aspirants of a level playing field.
“We are inviting all politicians, including the governor and his supporters, to join a party that guarantees fairness and transparency.
“If you are confident in your popularity and support base, the NDC provides the opportunity to contest without fear of internal crisis or legal battles,” he said.
Misau noted that the party had intensified efforts to promote its ideals of good governance through sustained awareness campaigns. He explained that the NDC is leveraging media platforms, radio jingles, and strategic partnerships with organisations such as the Nigeria Union of Journalists, civil society groups, and other public institutions to broaden its reach across the state.
He added that the growing awareness was already yielding results, with increasing interest from residents across Bauchi State.
The chairman further disclosed that the party would soon inaugurate its state executive council and extend the exercise to all 20 local government areas to strengthen its grassroots structure.
On membership expansion, Misau revealed that the NDC had introduced a digital registration portal to enhance participation, alongside manual registration for those unable to access online platforms. Completed forms, he said, would be forwarded to the party’s national headquarters.
He also claimed that national membership had reached nine million, reflecting growing acceptance across the country.
Misau urged citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and align with the NDC, stressing that active participation remains key to achieving good governance.
