NDDC Pleads With Rivers LG On Protest Against Neglect

Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has pleaded with the people of Ogba/Ndoki/Egbema local government area of Rivers State to halt their planned protest against the management of the interventionist agency over alleged neglect and regard for the people of the area.

The representative of Rivers State in the NDDC governing board, Chief Tony Okocha, disclosed this in a letter to the people of the LGA, a copy of which was obtained by LEADERSHIP Weekend.

The letter reads in part: “I picked this up. I have copied the leaders and crucial stakeholders here and other engagement spaces wherein highly revered indigenes and stakeholders of ONE LGA participate.

“I plead for restraints.  Please sheathe your swords. Protest/demonstration is/are last options in problem solving.
