National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Kebbi State has disbursed N4.2 million to 42 graduate-trainees in farming to enable them boost their businesses and become self- employed.
While disbursing the amount to the beneficiaries at Conference Hall of Women Affairs Ministry in Birnin Kebbi, NDE coordinator in the state, Ambiamto Emos Francis, who represented the director-general of the directorate, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, said the gesture is to encourage the graduate-trainees in their businesses such as animal rearing, hatchery and dry season farming.
Fikpo said the programme, which was created under Rural Employed Department (RED) was meant to boost agricultural activities in the state.
The coordinator who congratulated the trainees for being selected for the training charged them to utilise the amount they were given to boost their businesses.
The director of RED, Sani Mamman Charanchi represented at the disbursement ceremony also disclosed that the benefiting members were drawn from across the 21 local government areas of the state.
