The director-general, Abubakar Fipko, who inaugurated the training, said it was to provide employment opportunities for women and youths.

Fikpo who was represented by the state coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Jimada, said the federal government was committed to improving the livelihood of citizens, and urged the participants to understand the importance of the training as an opportunity to become self-reliant.

The director of vocational skills development in the directorate, Mr. Isa Abdu, advised the beneficiaries to accord priority to the training, and not the financial gains.

Abdu who was represented by Mamman Musa, the executive officer VSD, said the knowledge acquired would benefit the trainee and the society.
