Public Relations Officer of the Command, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari in a statement revealed the two-day raid was carried out on August 7 and 8 leading to the seizure of cannabis sativa, Pregabalin, diazepam, codeine syrup, Rohypnol, “Suck and die,” rubber solution, and locally made weapons.

According to the NDLEA, the operation focused on hotspots notorious for drug peddling such as Massallacin Idi, Fagge Plaza, Kofar Mata, Kofar Wambai, Kofar Dan’agundi, Makabartar Dan’agundi, Ladanai, Zage, and Tashar Rimi at Rimi Market.

Additional raids at Kano Line Motor Park and Tashar Rami Motor Park in Na’ibawa resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects.

“Since the elevation of the NDLEA’s operations to a strategic command level, there has been a notable increase in the effectiveness and scope of our efforts to combat drug-related crimes,” Maigatari added.

The Commander of the Kano Strategic Command, Assistant Comptroller General of Narcotics (ACGN) A.I. Ahmad said the crackdown was part of efforts to dismantle drug joints and disrupt the operations of known traffickers.
