Ndume Kicks Off Educational Support Project For Constituents

Senator Ali Mohammed Ndume has inaugurated Education Support Project for his constituents.

The lawmaker expressed his firm belief in the transformative power of the support given to students in pursuit of their education.

He said ongoing efforts to expand the Ndume Educational Support programme, underlined the need for substantial investments in education from the government and other key stakeholders.

Borno State governor Babagana Umara Zulum who flagged off the project, at a brief ceremony held at the El Kanemi Hall of the University of Maiduguri, acknowledged Senator Ndume’s noteworthy efforts in various spheres, including youth employment, the provision of clean water and most notably, education.

He lauded these contributions, emphasising that such dedication should be the norm for every constituency.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Umar Usman Kadafur further commended the senator representing Southern Borno senatorial district for his dedication to improving the lives of his constituents.

The deputy governor, had during the event announced personal contribution of N10million to the Ndume Educational Support for its next project.

The vice chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Aliyu Shugaba, expressed his appreciation to Senator Ndume for his unwavering support of students in higher institutions. He emphasised the critical role of education and the significant impact that the Educational Support initiative would have.

 Shugaba called on other individuals to follow Ndume’s example in contributing positively to the field of education.

The coordinator of the Ndume Educational Support, Junaid Jibril Maiva, reflecting on the programme’s origins, said that it was designed to assist the most-needy students, adding that it aims to provide support for 1,100 students across the nine local government areas of Borno South.

“Each of the 101 wards will have 10 students pursuing higher education who will receive educational support of N20,000 each.
