Nnamdi Esimai performed the symbolic flag off ceremony of the relief items distribution by presenting some of the items to some people from the affected communities at Iyiowa-Odekpe on Saturday.
The NEMA operational head told the beneficiaries that the Federal Government released the items to them following a distress report made to the Federal Government about the disaster by the member representing Ogbaru federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Victor Afam Ogene, wherein he appealed to the government to come to their assistance.
She explained further that following Ogene’s distress report, she led a team of other officials of her agency and visited the affected flood devastated communities and based on the agency’s finding and report the federal government directed that the relief items were brought to them.
