A new non-profit and non-political organisation, Dream Makers Empowerment Foundation, is set to create awareness and advocacy on the right to education of girls and women, youths and the less privileged, and provide scholarships and vocational training to help women and youths get the education and skills needed to pursue their dreams and careers.

Chairman of the foundation, Amadi Vidal Nwando, in a statement yesterday, said some of the aims and objectives of the foundation are to also provide regular medical check-ups, health services, counselling and mental health support for individuals and beneficiaries of the organisation.

The foundation, he added, would also support small business initiatives through micro-financing and mentorship, enabling economic independence and growth, create job training programmes that prepare individuals for the workforce, and giving them the skills needed to secure employment.

In addition, the chairman said the foundation would conduct advocacy and awareness campaigns, rights education and educate the community about the rights of women, youths and the less privileged, empowering them to stand up for themselves and others.

He said; “DME Foundation shall also engage with policymakers to influence and implement policies that protect and enhance the lives of our target groups, and engage in community development and community projects through infrastructure development, build schools, clinics, and community centers that provide essential services and support to the community.

“The foundation will also organise networking and partnerships through collaborative efforts, build strong partnerships with local and international organizations to amplify its impact and reach more individuals in need. It will educate the community about sustainable practices and involve them in environmental conservation efforts and efforts to combat climate change by implementing projects that promote environmental sustainability such as tree planting and waste management initiatives,” he said.
