New National Compendium To Drive Jobs, Investment, Tourism — Minister

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said the newly launched National Compendium on the Economic and Tourism Profiles of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would serve as a strategic tool for attracting investment, creating jobs, promoting tourism, and driving inclusive national development across the country.

Speaking at the Sub-National Government Economic and Tourism Information Roundtable and official unveiling of the Compendium yesterday in Abuja, Idris described the publication as a practical instrument designed to showcase the vast economic and tourism opportunities available across Nigeria’s sub-national entities.

According to him, every state in the federation possesses unique economic strengths and tourism assets that, if properly documented and promoted, can significantly contribute to national development.

“Every state has unique assets in agriculture, solid minerals, cultural and creative industries, historic sites, natural attractions, technology, manufacturing, trade and services. Properly documented and promoted, these assets can attract investment, create jobs, and generate revenue that supports inclusive national development,” the minister said.

Idris noted that the compendium aligned with the mandate of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation to project Nigeria’s image, support national development and provide credible information to citizens, investors and the international community on opportunities within the country.

He described the publication as more than a document, but a strategic investment and tourism guide capable of projecting Nigeria’s sub-national strengths to global audiences.

“This compendium is more than a publication. It is an investment guide, a tourism promotion document, and a practical instrument for projecting Nigeria’s sub-national strengths to the world,” he stated.
