eHealth Africa has released its 2025 Annual Impact Report, revealing major milestones in expanding immunisation coverage across Nigeria and reaching underserved communities with equitable access to healthcare through scaled digital health solutions.
The report titled: “Scaling Digital Innovations To Save More Lives” is a testament to “our commitment to save more lives using data-driven health solutions,” the organisation said in a statement.
The statement issued by Favour Oriaku, communications manager, eHealth Africa, explained that the deployment of geospatial technology and their in-house PlanFeld digital solution expanded vaccination reach and drove tangible gains toward universal health coverage.
One of the major highlights of the report was the strengthening of last-mile vaccine delivery and cold chain resilience, with a total of 5,477,540 vaccines and 2,935,775 units of dry commodities delivered directly to health facilities.
This life-saving intervention, the organisation said, led to the immunisation of at least 1,802,609 children, directly contributing to the prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases and improved child health outcomes.
Through its Vaccine Direct Delivery Intervention, eHealth Africa ensured uninterrupted access to essential immunisation supplies and reduced stock-out risks at service delivery points.
Additionally, eHealth Africa established and upgraded six Public Health Emergency Operation Centres across Africa, while providing operational support to 11 Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs) in Nigeria.
The EOC functions as a live coordination nerve centre integrating surveillance data, laboratory reports, field intelligence, and partner updates into one real-time decision-making platform.
During the year, the organisation also completed the construction or upgrade of five laboratories and handed over all the facilities to the host countries, directly strengthening national ownership and sovereign diagnostic capacity.
Supported laboratories included the Institut Pasteur de Côte d’Ivoire, the National Microbiology Laboratory, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the Kenya Medical Research Institute, among others.
eHealth Africa also achieved a scalable footprint in renewable energy for primary healthcare, including the solarisation of 238 Primary Healthcare (PHCs) facilities across 12 states, addressing a critical systemic gap by restoring dependable and renewable power at the frontline of care.
PHCs are now handling thrice the deliveries they usually handle, while more children are being vaccinated as a result of renewable energy-powered cold chain facilities.
In his remark as contained in the report, the executive director of eHealth Africa, Atef Fawaz, said 2025 reflected the organisation’s strong resolve to save and protect lives. He said, “The year provided an opportunity for eHealth Africa to evolve from a project partner to a trusted systems operator and leader in the digital and public health space”.
“In 2025, we made significant strides in improving access to quality healthcare services across Nigeria. Through targeted interventions and innovative technologies, more people were able to access life-saving care,” he added.
