As part of efforts to create millionaires and empower Nigerians through lottery, a sports lottery organisation, New Year Mega Lottery Limited (NYML), has been launched in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
Unveiling NYML on Thursday with eight attractive products, chief executive officer (CEO), Mr Sunday Adeleye, said New Year Mega Lottery Limited which has already committed a whopping N964 million to Nigeria’s third tier football league, Nationwide League One (NLO), as a title sponsor, is different from sport betting and offers opportunity for the players in the NLO and the fans to earn exclusive incomes.

“We have the vision to make 50 millionaires every 31st December, starting from one million naira, while 50 million naira is the jackpot in the Mega Draw. With just one ticket, you can play 11 draws. We reasoned that the more success stories we have, the more we will be in the market.

“Already, we are investing in Nationwide League One (NLO) which is the largest league in the world, as a title sponsor and we are happy to connect with footballers at the grassroots level with the mindset to empower and harness their talents for the future.

“The New Year Mega Lottery is different from sports betting, which means players can participate in the lottery and earn good money for themselves,” Adeleye said.

The eight NYML’s products introduced to Nigerians on Thursday at the VIP Lounge of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja are Mega Draw, State Mega Puzzle, Monthly Draw, Mega Japa, Instant Scratch and Win, Pocket Moni, Campus Fare and Back to School.

According to Adeleye, Nigerians can be made millionaires with just as low as N200 without stress, saying the decision to peg the cost of the lottery at N200 is to make it easy for anyone above 18 years to participate, irrespective of class, status, gender and other social factors.

“We have products such as State Mega Puzzle, Mega Japa, Monthly Draw, Campus Fare, Mega Draw, Back to School, Instant Scratch and Win and
Pocket Moni. It is for parents, students, workers and all categories of people to select which one they want and play. Whether physical card or online, we have all Nigerians covered.

“As Nigerians, we like to travel or Japa, that’s why we have Mega Japa. As students who often need urgent money, we have Pocket Moni, Campus Fare and Back to School. So, everyone is covered. We are not leaving anyone behind. We have made the ticket available and affordable for everyone.”
